Dan Montgomery
President, Chief Executive Officer

Dan Montgomery was appointed Chief Executive Officer in July 2009 and currently serves as President of the Board. For over 27 years, Mr. Montgomery has contributed his expertise in various roles throughout the Company. He began his career as a chemist at Fritz Industries and was soon promoted to Product Development Manager. With more strategic oversight, Mr. Montgomery was instrumental in improving upon a number of processes and authored several key patents. In 1995, he took over as Oilfield Sales Manager where he excelled at business development and ushered the Company through year over year sales growth.

Mr. Montgomery received a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and commits his time to several local charities.

Michael Kovar
Vice President, Chief Financial Officer

Michael Kovar currently serves as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.  Prior to joining Fritz, Mr. Kovar was employed by Fossil, Inc. where he served as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer among other management roles over 13-years. In this role, he was awarded the esteemed recognition of “Best CFO” in 2013 and 2014 by Institutional Investor a leading global finance publication.

Mr. Kovar earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Texas State University. He is a CPA and active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Kovar is also a proud board member of Patriot Paws and the Fossil Foundation.

James Pickell
Vice President, Chief Operations Officer

James Pickell currently serves as Chief Operations Officer. He joined the Fritz family in 2006 as an Oilfield Account Manager based in Houston, TX. Shortly after taking over Oilfield Sales in 2010, he relocated to the Company’s headquarters in Mesquite, TX.

Mr. Pickell has over 22 years’ experience in both upstream and downstream oilfield operations and chemicals. Prior to joining Fritz, he held key positions for Nalco Chemical and Aqualon Company, as well as Phillips Petroleum—where he began his oil & gas career as a process engineer.  Mr. Pickell graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering.

Steven Laramay
Senior Director, Business Development

Steve Laramay currently serves as Senior Director of Business Development. Prior to Fritz, he worked in research & development for Halliburton at the Duncan Technology Center.

Since joining Fritz in 1995, Dr. Laramay has led research & development efforts for oilfield and specialty divisions. He has continued to lead by example through innovation, including several notable patents that have improved processes as well as products.  Dr. Laramay is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. He holds a Doctorate of Philosophy in Organic Chemistry from Iowa State University and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the State University of New York at Potsdam.

Brent Duty
Senior Vice President, Specialty

Brent Duty currently serves as Vice President of Specialty.  Prior to joining Fritz, he held various management roles in the telecommunications industry where he provided leadership in software and hardware technologies to improve customer service.

In his current role, Mr. Duty influences corporate strategy to optimize safety, efficiency and growth through all company processes. He further provides oversight and direction for capital projects, Environmental, Health & Safety, IT, Quality, Compliance and Corporate Communications.  Mr. Duty holds a bachelor’s degree in management information systems from Texas Tech University and a MBA from The University of Texas at Dallas.

Kris Neill
Director of Sales, Oilfield Chemicals Division

Kris Neill currently serves as Director of Sales for the Oilfield Chemicals Division. He joined Fritz in 2010 as an Oilfield Account Manager and was promoted to Sales Manager in 2014.

Prior to joining Fritz, Mr. Neill spent nine years in the Capital Markets and Investment Banking industry where he held key sales positions such as VP Sales for a publicly traded investment bank. Mr. Neill graduated from the McCoy College of Business at Texas State University in 2001 with a degree in Marketing and Finance.
