Fritz Industries Hires Director of Research and Development for Houston Technology Center

Steve Almond Brings More Than 35 Years’ Experience to Manufacturing Company

(Mesquite, TX)- Fritz Industries, Inc. recently hired Steve Almond as Director of Research & Development for the new Houston Technology Center, a R&D facility located in the energy corridor. Almond will oversee a staff of researchers including skilled chemists and laboratory technicians.

“Steve is an excellent choice for our new Director of Research and Development,” said Steve Laramay, Fritz Vice President of Technology. “He has a deep background in oil and gas which complements our needs very well.”

Almond previously served as Technical Director for MeadWestvaco in Charleston, South Carolina. While there he staffed and directed an oil field chemicals technology team. Almond holds a PhD from Oregon State University and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, the American Association of Drilling Engineers and the American Chemical Society.

“I’m looking forward to growing Fritz Industries in the Houston area,” said Almond. “With over 35 years in the industry, I’m anxious to put my expertise to work.”

Fritz Industries was founded in 1956 and has grown into an international manufacturing company serving hundreds of customers around the world in the oil & gas industry. Fritz currently conducts research and product development at their Mesquite Technology Center to support customers in the energy industry.

The R&D leadership team is PhD-level with decades of experience in chemistry, biology, engineering and manufacturing. Fritz holds 22 patents in several areas including drilling, cementing, stimulation and completion. The company has dedicated labs for each of these specialties.

Fritz Industries has headquarters in Mesquite, Texas, with an additional manufacturing center in Greenville, Texas.
